The name Atlantis was choosen after reading a book " Atlantis from a geographer's perspective: Mapping the fairy land ", by Ulf Erlingsson. The author puts forward the case that Plato based the geographic description of Atlantis on Ireland. The Atlantean capital can be connected with Tara and the temples of Poseidon and the ancestors match up well with Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth.
Plato in 360BC described an island, mountainous around the coasts and inhabited by an advanced and civilised people ahead of their time who may well have been the Celts, our ancestors.
The founder Paul O'Dea from Galway went to Cardiff to study dentistry after the Jes and Bish but preferred the technical side and enrolled in Manchester Metropolitan University to study Dental Technology.
After many years working along side many great mentors and collegues and gaining much experience in all aspects of the industry, Paul went back to work in the university before setting up a dental surgery and laboratory in Manchester specialising in prosthetics, CAD-CAM crown and bridge work and implantology.
Never intending to stay or settle permanetly abroad in 2014 moved back to his home town of Galway and now works full time at Atlantis Dental Laboratory.
